Fangzhou Liu received the Modern-day Techonology Leader Award at the 2021 BEYA STEM Global Competitiveness Conference.
Fangzhou Liu, a Ph.D. student of Environmental Engineering at New Jersey Insitute of Technology, recently received the Modern-day Techonology Leader Award at the 2021 BEYA STEM Conference, which was established by Career Communications Group's US Black Engineer and Information Technology magazine. Career Communications Group, Inc. (CCG) was founded in 1985 with a unique mission to promote significant minority achievement in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). Modern-Day Technology Leaders are men and women who are demonstrating outstanding performance in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Fangzhou Liu have been recognized for his accomplishments with a Certificate of Recognition during the Technology Recognition Luncheon on Friday, February 12, 2021.
Fangzhou obtained M.S. from the Department of Civil and Environmental engineering at NJIT in May 2020 and he defended his master thesis resaerch under supervision of Prof. Wen Zhang. Now he is enrolled as a Ph.D. student in Prof. Zhang’s team and completed his qualifying exam and research proposal defense in early January 2021. His master and Ph.D. research both focused on the microwave enhanced membrane for PFOA degradation under funding support from NSF, EPA and the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. His first-author journal article, “Influences of Microwave Irradiation on Performances of Membrane Filtration and Catalytic Degradation of Perfluorooctanoic Acid (PFOA)”, was published by Environment International, a high-quality journal in the field. His infectious enthusiasms, independence and productivity inspire the surrounding people and colleagues. Congratulations to Dr. Fangzhou Liu!
