I am also actively involved in community outreach and educational initiatives. For example, to address the unique challenges of climate change presents to Small Island Developing States (SIDS), I have been working with a global Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Foundation for Youth Development (FYD) and obtained the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and Small Grants Programme (SGP) implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to support studies and engineering projects to address the SIDS development challenges from sea-level rise, altered rainfall patterns, and storm-surges for three countries, Nauru, Tuvalu and Tonga. As the Project Co-Director, I hosted two workshops at Queensland University in Brisbane, Australia in 2017 and at NJIT in 2020 to disseminate knowledge and involve communities and college students.
